ANU offers rank adjustments for a number of adjustment factors, including for high achievement in nationally strategic senior secondary subjects and for recognition of difficult circumstances that students face in their studies. Rank adjustments are applied to Bachelor degree applicants with an ATAR at or above 70. Points are awarded in accordance with the approved schedules, and no more than 15 points (maximum 5 subject/performance-based adjustments, maximum 10 equity-based adjustments and maximum 5 Elite Athlete adjustments) will be awarded. • with at least 8 courses in the field of Physics and/or Engineering and/or Mathematics (minimum grade point average of 5.5/7.0 in these subjects)

Students must achieve a minimum 70% weighted average mark in the initial 48 units of coursework and have the approval of the supervisor for the research project to continue to the research component.

·        Applicants will be expected to submit a portfolio, and participate in an interview process as detailed on the 3A Institute website (www.3ainstitute.org); and

·        A Bachelor degree with honours or international equivalent, or higher qualification, with a minimum GPA of 4/7

·        A Bachelor degree or international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 5/7; or

·        A Bachelor degree or international equivalent with a minimum GPA of 4/7 and a minimum of 3 years full-time, relevant work experience; or

·        GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test), completed no more than 5 years before the time of application, with a minimum score of 550 (minimum 5.0 in Analytical Writing) and a minimum of 3 years full-time, relevant work experience; or

·        GRE General test, completed no more than 5 years before the time of application, with a minimum score of 150 for Verbal Reasoning, 150 for Quantitative Reasoning and 4.0 in Analytical Writing and a minimum of 3 years full-time, relevant work experience; or

·        A minimum of 10 years of full time, relevant work experience at ANZCO Skill Level 1(see below).

Applications for course credit

Applicants with a Bachelor Degree or Graduate Certificate in a cognate discipline may be eligible for up to 24 units (one semester) of credit. 

Applicants with a Graduate Diploma or Bachelor degree with Honours in a cognate discipline may be eligible for up to 48 units (one year) of credit. 

To be admitted to our Master of Philosophy (MPhil) program you need to have completed an Australian Bachelor Degree with at least Upper Second Class Honours (First Class Honours is usually required) or its international equivalent, or a Graduate Diploma or Master Degree with a significant research thesis component. There must also be a supervisor at ANU, normally a member of the Fenner School's academic staff, who has agreed to supervise your research.

You must also meet the University’s English Language Admission Requirements for Students.

• with a weighted average mark equivalent to an ANU   70 per cent calculated from the 36 units (i.e. 0.75 EFTSL) of courses in the discipline cognate to the honours specialisation, excluding 1000-level courses (i.e. introductory undergraduate courses), with the highest marks. 
• And the satisfaction of any admission requirements described in the relevant honours specialisation
