Today, Mathematics plays an important role in the optimisation of industrial systems and is used in many fields, including technology, natural science, engineering, medicine, finance and the social sciences such as sociology and psychology. The Industrial Optimisation Major is designed to provide students with the skills in mathematics, engineering and computing and to apply them to problems arising in business, industry and government. The Major includes units in advanced calculus and linear algebra that provide foundation knowledge as well as units in modelling and optimisation, network design and analysis, logistics, supply chain networks, transportation networks, computational mathematics, statistics and probability. Industry-based units will help you to experience real applications.
